Verse 1: Gangs ri ra ve bKor ve' shing khams 'dir. Translated as: Land of secrets, naturally protected by mountains of snow.
Verse 2: Phen dang bDe va ma lus 'byung ve' gShi. Translated: In it, the source of all benefit and happiness.
Verse 3: sPychen re gSig dBang bsTen 'zin rGya mtso yi. Tenzin Gyatso the champion who can unveil the light.
Verse 4: shaps ped srid mThae' bar du brTen gyur chik. May your feet remain on the lotus until all darknesses be transcended.
Tibetans commonly use these 4 stanzas to pray for the longevity of H.H. The Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso). This melody in particular is traditionally chanted at the Namgyal Monastery, the private Monastery of H.H. The Dalai Lama.
