Ongoing Opportunities:
Listed below are not "time sensitive" volunteer positions but are ongoing opportunities so feel free to contact the organization and discuss what services you want to offer and see where they can fit you in.
Emergency Social Services network:
We are a 24/7 support group of volunteers who help our neighbors in times of catastrophic emergencies. We offer food, housing, and support.

SSI Conservancy:
The Salt Spring Island Conservancy welcomes volunteers for a variety of tasks that include office work, field work, mapping, organizing special events, teaching children about nature, land protection and Stewardship activities.
We tailor any volunteer requests we receive with the availability of our volunteer opportunities.
Anyone interested in volunteering should telephone Susan Dann at 250.538.0318 between 10-and 3 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or email info@saltspringconservancy.ca
Lady Minto Extended Care:
In addition to the regular calendar events listed above we also would appreciate volunteers to assist with lunch and supper meals; training is supplied. A volunteer doing one on one visits is a possibility.
We can use a person that enjoys trivia, reading (either one or one or a group), gardening (talking to residents about gardening , planting , weeding etc.), taking someone for a walk ( push residents in their wheelchairs). Volunteer can also help with special meals and BBQ's.
So basically we have a need for volunteers everyday of the week and many capacities.
I have no problem with trying new ideas that may enhance our residents journey. Any question just give me a call or email.
